We just received the latest EP from Miami artist Freeazy Free titled Black Paint and I can honestly say I am feeling the project. I gave it two listens before it finally dawned on me how versatile the Miami area scene is. The production alone is enough to keep this on repeat for a few hours and we have to note that Freeazy produced the whole EP. Freeazy is extremely witty and tongue and cheek with his rhymes with references to current events and local hoodisms. I do hear influences from Florida and Lil Wayne as far as sound and patterns go, but don't let that scare you away - the lyrical content and reading between Freeazy's lines keeps it refreshing.
