The mixtape is sonically sound body of work that showcases the groups distinct southern sound. We see the harsh reality of street life and social issues that face many artists trying to break free from. I definitely see some influence from other legendary southern artists, yet MoonHigh puts their distinctive twist on it.
The standout track on the mixtape has to be "Can't Explain" and "The Struggle" which showcases real emotion. We hear about pain balancing music, love, jealousy and the harsh reality of street life. "Baltimore" is also very honest and conscious track dealing with issues surrounding police brutality in the U.S.
Overall MoonHigh Music Group "GRIND OR STARVE" is a very honest project. I look forward to hearing more music from the Cleveland collective.
