The latest track from Justin Hibbert aka "i"titled "Blacked Out" features Houston, TX legend and recent Taylor Gang Records signee Project Pat. The track is a fusion between southern trap, dancehall and horrorcore in one package. Justin takes care of the production on the track and it knocks!
For starters it is great to really hear Project Pat's true re emergence into the mainstream lane of music. An artist with the ability to connect reggae and Pat on one track "Blacked Out" says a lot about music today and the aritst making it. This man is Justin Hibbert [i] or simply [i] the bridging of these genres gives it a very international hood feel, which is also surprising due to Justin Hibbert's last release "What It Look Like" which was his biggest release to date but that was very electronic and poppy. Production wise this song pulls from trap, chant, reggae, Caribbean, rap, ambient and rock. My favorite part may be the piano additions only under [i]s verses and the outro of the song. This track "Blacked Out" is on [i]'s new project "Initiation" due later this winter. "Initiation" is the follow up to his debut ep "Illusion" which featured Lola Monroe. Be sure to keep a watch on this artist, truly big things coming.
