Here at Pwrmov.es we are huge fans of of classic boom bap vibes and SV(Sean Veligor) delivers with his latest beat tape. B Side Beat Tape is comprised of beats that didn't make the cut on his Slap Jazz Beat tape. SV hails from Boston, MA and is part of the hip hop crew Jim's Pool Room , a coalition of talented mc's, dj's and producers from St Louis to Boston.
B Side Beat Tape is a 20 minute masterpiece showcasing jazzy overtones, echoing the boom bap of Pete Rock and the smoothness of Jazzy Jeff production. We get a taste of upbeat, dark and melodic styles of production in this well rounded project. SV produced the whole tape, then ran it through his rusty old cassette deck to achieve that gritty sound.
SV has worked with artists such as Percee P, MotionPlus and Sadat X.
It's hard to pick a favourite beat on this project, but the last beat starting at 19:09 is our top pick. We hear an eerie sample and overtones of a scene in a dramatic movie.
