The almighty Ghostface Killah gave The Roots a rest this evening, reuniting with his 36 Seasons production crew The Revelations and the lovely Kandace Springs in studio 6b to perform their soul-soaked groove “Love Don’t Live Here No More” live on The Tonight Show. And it was quite the affair. The Brooklyn outfit proved a to be a proper backing ensemble(though I detect a bit of a backing track) for Pretty Tony’s gangstafied love jonesin’ and Miss Springs’ cool and velvety croon. Needless to say, the sunny soul chops were in full effect this evening at 30 Rock.
